Social Action -

The men of Omicron Alpha Alpha Chapter actively engage in community service and civic contribution through our Social Action Committee (SAC).

At every level of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., members are called to serve and uplift their communities through impactful social action. The Omicron Alpha Alpha Chapter proudly embraces this mission by actively organizing and participating in initiatives that foster positive change in Pontiac, MI.

Social Action: Blood Drive

In partnership with the American Red Cross, we are proud to uphold our National Blood Drive Mandate, a key initiative aimed at addressing the ongoing need for blood donations and supporting local hospitals. This critical program ensures that those in need of life-saving blood have access to the resources they require.

Social Action: Fatherhood & Mentoring

Each year, we host a camping experience designed to bring young people together in an environment that fosters growth and connection. Through fellowship and hands-on learning, participants gain valuable life skills, build confidence, and form lasting bonds. On average, more than 40 families are represented at this event, making it a true community effort and a powerful expression of our dedication to developing the next generation.

Social Action: Voter Registration

Every year, we take an active role in promoting civic engagement through our Voter Registration initiative. In light of the political and social challenges facing our nation, we recognized the importance of ensuring that every eligible individual has the opportunity to exercise their right to vote.

Social Action: Health Initiative

Our chapter is dedicated to promoting health and wellness in the community. From the Charles Drew Blood Drive to our partnership with Wayne Mobile Health, we actively support programs that encourage healthy living and provide life-saving resources.

Social Action: Backpack Giveaway

Our backpack initiative was created to ensure that all students, regardless of their circumstances, have the tools they need to begin the school year with confidence and success. Chapter members distributed backpacks filled with essential items such as notebooks, pencils, pens, and folders.

Social Action: Hat & Glove Giveaway

Our Hat & Glove Giveaway was created to ensure that students have warm clothing to stay comfortable and focused during the colder months. Chapter members distribute hats, gloves, and other winter essentials to help youth face the season prepared and confident.

Social Action: Winter Coat Giveaway

Through our Winter Coat Giveaway, we provide warmth and comfort to families in need. Our chapter distributes dozens of brand new winter coats to children and families who might otherwise struggle to stay warm during the colder months.

Social Action: Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway

In the true spirit of Thanksgiving, we teamed up with the Pontiac National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) to host a Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway that brought joy and warmth to more than 200 families in our community. This annual event is designed to ensure that all families, regardless of circumstance, can enjoy a hearty and delicious holiday meal.

Social Action: Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway

In the spirit of gratitude and giving, we host an annual Thanksgiving Turkey and Fixings Giveaway, providing families with everything needed for a festive holiday meal. Each year, chapter members come together to make the event a heartwarming success and serve the community.

Social Action: CHRISTmas Presents Giveaway

Each year, we host our Christmas Gift Giveaway, spreading joy and cheer to families in our community. Chapter members come together to provide gifts that bring smiles to children and make the holiday season brighter for those who might otherwise go without.

Social Action: Park Clean Up

Several times each year, our chapter comes together to maintain and beautify Richardson Park. By removing litter, clearing debris, and caring for shared spaces, we help create cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environments for families and the community to enjoy.

Social Action: Grocery Giveaway

Each Thursday, our chapter partners with Trinity Church to host a Grocery Giveaway that supports families in our community. Together, we provide fresh food and essential items, helping to ease the burden of grocery costs while ensuring that households have access to nutritious meals.

Social Action: Adopt-A-Road

Our chapter has taken responsibility for maintaining a local street, demonstrating pride in and commitment to our community. Several times a year, members come together to clear litter and debris, helping to create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for everyone.

Social Action: Suit Giveaway

Our Suit Giveaway provides community members with professional attire that helps open doors to new opportunities. By offering suits and accessories, we aim to equip individuals with the confidence and presentation needed for job interviews, career advancement, and other important occasions.
